Ok Creative Team... It's time to put some serious horsepower into the next series - its only 3 weeks away! This one is going to be BIG... We are talking about some really cool things to reinforce the fact that, as Christ-followers, we should be living CAFFEINATED lives - full of JOY!
Some initial ideas:
-Premium Coffee Bar in Hospitality Area
-Jittery Joes Compass blend coffee
-Special seating areas in the worship center
-Ikea Couches/coffee tables
-Set design – coffee shop feel… brick wall, art hanging, metal, wood, coffee bags
Roaster on stage?? Jittery Joes roaster feel
-Coffee station in the parking lot/driveway
-Special printed coffee cups or wraps
-“Free Coffee” flyers for community handouts/bills posted
-Coffee that makes a difference
-We are also talking about t-shirts... really cool t-shirts.
So the big two questions are:
1. What can we put in everybody's hands to invite people back for the series?? (Hand painted invites on individual coffee beans has already been suggested)
2. How can we impact Athens in a meaningful way during this series?

I love the coffee bag idea as an "invite card" for our people. What if we offered a free 4th pound or half pound of the Jit. Joes Compass Blend coffee for each guest that attended during the series. We could simple create a hand-out card that looked like a coupon and said something like "redeem this coupon at guest services for a free bag of Compass Coffee" That way we could simply print business sized cards like we've done before and we could have a nice label printed for the 1/4 or 1/2 pound bags that the guest get when they attend.
- what goes better in a coffee bar than a beat poet? I think whoever gives the welcome needs to be dressed in all black and wearing sunglasses. JIM: this does not give you freedom to wear a beret on stage.
- I like the idea of a brick wall for the stage setting; something earthy and lived-in needs to be the tonal framework
- playing off of Chris' idea, I like the idea of giving people a bag (burlap or other) and then inviting them in to have it filled with a scoop of coffee beans every time they attend. [Insert spiritual parallel here] The stamp-card thing works as well, but this just feels more unique. AND - in lieu of a JJ blend of coffee, the scoop can be from a Fair Trade coffee. You could do a double-sided label, one side Compass-centric, and the other side why a Fair Trade coffee matters and why as a Christ folower, we should support this idea
- souveneir T-shirts mailed to supporters out of state works as well. I would be honored to promote the series...from Miami...
